Distribution Sales Director


Location: Either UK or USA based

The Role

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, as Distribution Sales Director, your role will be to manage and develop a strong company/customer relationship to Global distribution accounts, sell our products and solutions led Value-Added services and ensure that the company wins distributor mindshare to provide, and stock, new products for design-in that meet requirements of POS/end customers.


Key Responsibilities

To lead the Lead the creation of the 3-year distribution strategy for the Bulgin Group as an integral part of its overall growth strategy:

  • Define and build a profitable growth path via the distributor network at global, regional and national level
  • Serve as the primary interface with and advocate for designated strategic distribution target OEM customer(s) with Bulgin Key Account Managers and Independent Reps (Americas only). Build strong relationships between the Bulgin Group and its distributors at various levels of the organisation
  • Direct and coordinate preparation of sales and business forecasts for the Distribution Channel; contributing to strategic and long-term growth plans
  • Lead the development and execution of joined business plans and associated programs driving the launch and customer uptake of new product offerings and expand the available market share of existing product ranges across all geographies
  • Demonstrate and articulate the clear value add of Bulgin to its distribution partners and translate this into a competitive advantage
  • Devise, implement, and review market pricing through the entire channel regionally/globally
  • Maximise the company’s account penetration through the sale of existing product and new product design-in opportunities to increase end customer count
  • Drive leads, opportunities, and Train the Trainer (Key Account Managers, Independent Reps) for all branch level trainings globally on our products and VA services
  • Report monthly on Program opportunities (Gap Fill, Low Stock, Power Buys, NPIs, New Distributorship and stocking packages, etc.) in Salesforce (CRM) and distribution sales activity while working hands on to deliver the purchase orders with your Distribution Partners


Qualification and Experience

The successful candidate will possess the ability to understand and champion Bulgin’s core product offering and capabilities to identify opportunities


Essential Skills and Experience

  • Significant experience in a senior sales, category or supplier management role – ideally within electronics/multichannel distribution or a manufacturer environment
  • Proven ability to work effectively at Director level
  • Experience of new product development and launch programs
  • Demonstrable understanding and ability to communicate difficult technical concepts in electro-mechanical systems and software / internet; ideally you will have a background in an engineering discipline
  • P&L management experience
  • Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products
  • Proven track record of program management resulting in commercial success in a dynamic environment
  • Willingness to Travel globally (up to 50%)


Person Specification

Our successful candidate will be a driven individual with a proven technical sales background. They will be a strong people and stakeholder manager, an excellent communicator, with the ability to ensure that promises are kept and that expectations are managed with confidence. The ability to think strategically, analysing issues and opportunities and to act upon them is key to this position.
